Supportive Care for Every Stage
Whether your child is visiting for the first time, dealing with a dental emergency, or needs extra support during treatment, our team is here to help. We’ll guide your family with patience, kindness, and care designed around your child.
What if my child is nervous about going to the dentist?
Many children feel nervous about dental visits. We take time to understand what makes your child anxious, explain things using child-friendly language, and move at a pace that helps them feel comfortable. Our goal is to build trust and confidence over time, not rush the experience.
Do you treat children with special needs?
Yes. We provide individualized dental care for children with sensory, medical, and developmental needs. Every child is different, so we work closely with families to create an approach that supports comfort, communication, and long-term oral health.
When is dental sedation recommended for children?
Most children do well with gentle coaching and, when appropriate, nitrous oxide. For children with severe anxiety or those who need extensive dental treatment, IV sedation may be recommended. We will discuss all options with you and recommend the safest approach for your child’s needs.
What should I do if my child has a dental emergency?
If your child has a broken tooth, knocked-out tooth, mouth injury, swelling, or significant dental pain, call our office as soon as possible. During office hours, our team will help determine how quickly your child needs to be seen, and after hours, an on-call pediatric dentist is available for established patients.
When should my child stop using a pacifier or sucking their thumb?
Many children naturally stop these habits on their own. If a thumb-sucking or pacifier habit continues as your child grows, we can monitor how it may be affecting their teeth and bite and provide gentle guidance to help your family encourage healthy changes.
What happens at my child’s first dental visit?
First visits are designed to be positive, simple, and educational. For infants and toddlers, much of the visit focuses on helping parents understand brushing, nutrition, and healthy oral development while introducing children to the dental office in a fun, low-pressure way.
